5. Interface & Tools

MindLogic's features are carefully organized in the bottom toolbar and sidebar (bottom inspector panel on iOS) so you can access them at any time while thinking.

5.1 Sidebar (Mac) / Inspector Panel (iOS)

Mac users can access all settings through the right sidebar, while iOS users can operate through the bottom inspector panel that pops up after clicking an element.

Note: Mac Top-Left Quick Access In the top-left corner of the Mac version, there are two quick-access buttons: Hide/Show Sidebar (to free up more drawing space for you) and the New Wizard.

The sidebar contains the following core modules:

  1. Document Settings: Edit the global attributes of the current document.
  2. Domain Settings: Manage visual domain preset libraries; refer to Chapter 3 for details.
  3. Navigation Settings: When the graph is extremely large, this provides an outline tree view, giving you a bird's-eye view of the complex structure.
  4. Element Settings: Precisely adjust the specific style of the currently selected item. The panel automatically switches based on what you have selected:
    • Entities: Modify node padding, corner radius, background color, text color, alignment, and switch the content type (Plain Text / Markdown / Image).
    • Lines (Edges): Adjust edge thickness, color, and stroke style (solid, dashed, etc.).
    • Junctors: Adjust the size and style of logical hub points.
    • Groups: Adjust the border thickness and internal fill style of collapsible groups.
  5. Confidence (Operators) and Data & Formulas (Attributes): See Chapter 4 for details on the math engine.
  6. Layout: Configure algorithm parameters for auto-layout (compactness, direction).
  7. Search: Highlight queried nodes or specific variable texts, supporting case-sensitive matching.
  8. Profile: Check your account login status and license validity.
  9. Settings: Language preference settings; see Chapter 1 for details.

5.2 Bottom Global Toolbar

The toolbar is located at the bottom of the canvas and provides the most high-frequency operations, with slight differences depending on the platform's device characteristics:

  • Search: Instantly summons the global search panel.
  • Focus Mode: Highlights the causal path associated with the currently selected node, while dimming the opacity of other unrelated nodes.
  • View Details: On Mac, expands or collapses the element property inspector in the sidebar.
  • Zoom & Reset: Displays the current zoom level. Click the reset button to scale the canvas to exactly fit all graph contents.
  • Full Screen Button (iOS Exclusive): Enters an immersive full-screen mode, completely hiding the system status bar.
  • Styles (iOS Exclusive): To compensate for the tediousness of frequently bringing up the inspector panel on mobile, the toolbar features a quick style switching panel.
  • Rotate Canvas: One-click toggle for the graph's overall growth direction (horizontal or vertical).
  • Bias Options: One-click adjustment of the hierarchy alignment for connecting lines or nodes (align left, center, or right).
  • Display Options: Customize whether extra information like edge labels, formula output previews, and junctors are displayed on the canvas, helping you filter visual noise at different stages of your work.
  • Add Entity / Group / Delete: Common canvas operation buttons. (Note: On the iOS touchscreen, adding a successor and deleting are usually done via the menu).
